Dr. Kathryn Thompson, OD
Born in Lake Forest, Illinois, Kathryn moved to Maryland at a young age. A graduate of River Hill High School in Clarksville, Kathryn then went on to study Biology at Virginia Tech.
In 2008, Dr. Thompson graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, now Sallus University, with her OD. After, finishing her residency in low-vision care at the Salem VA Hospital
in Virginia, Kathryn moved back to Maryland and began working for her father on a part-time basis. As the business transitioned, Kathryn became business partners with her father in
the creation of Thompson Vision Care.

Dr. Gerald Thompson, OD
Gerald was born and raised in Bartlett, Illinois. He studied Biology at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, where he met his wife of now 35 years. After graduating from ISU,
Gerald attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana for Optometry School. Upon receiving his OD, Gerald became an optometrist for the Army. After leaving the army in 1984, Gerald
moved to Maryland to be closer to his family and began working and opened his first practice in Berwyn Heights in 1986. Over the years, he had multiple offices and eventually decided to
focus on his practice in Greenbelt.
